VidCruiter competitors: VidCruiter alternatives and 9 interview platforms compared
The short answer
VidCruiter competitors fall into three groups. Recording platforms that do the same core job for less: Spark Hire, Willo and Hireflix. Enterprise suites that match its breadth and compliance posture: HireVue, Jobma and interviewstream. And AI interviewers that conduct the first-round conversation instead of recording it: InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout and InterviewAgent.ai. Six of the nine publish a price. VidCruiter does not, and its own site describes its category as custom-quoted.
People looking up VidCruiter competitors are usually holding a quote, or waiting for one. VidCruiter is a serious platform: pre-recorded and live video interviews, scheduling, structured interview guides, reference checks, proctoring, skills tests and an applicant tracking system, with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 on its security page. The question is rarely whether it works. It is whether you need all of it, and what the other options cost when they print a number.
This page answers that with a table of nine companies like VidCruiter, grouped by what actually happens in the first round, and every price read from the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown. We build one of the products compared here, an AI agent that conducts the first-round interview, so treat that as a disclosed interest and check each claim against the vendor.

Why it works
What your team gets with VidCruiter competitors
Priced in public
Our plans are published rather than quoted after a discovery call, so you can compare us with any VidCruiter quote before you book a demo.
Conducted, not recorded
The agent runs the first-round interview itself, asks its own follow-ups and scores each answer, so what comes back is a ranked shortlist rather than a folder of recordings somebody still has to watch.
Human final call
Candidates are advanced to recruiter review, never auto-rejected, with consent, AI disclosure and bias auditing aligned to EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.
What it handles
Interviewed, scored and shortlisted on autopilot
The agent invites each applicant, runs a role-tailored screening interview by voice or video, asks smart follow-ups, scores every answer against your rubric, and advances the strongest candidates into a ranked shortlist for your recruiters to review.
- Interviews every applicant on the req without a recruiter attending
- Asks unscripted follow-ups when an answer is vague or a claim needs testing
- Scores answers against the rubric you set, identically for every candidate
- Returns a ranked shortlist with transcripts and highlights, not hours of footage
- Works alongside the ATS you already run instead of replacing it
Why InterviewAgent.ai
One agent that runs the whole first round
Not a one-way video tool, not a six-figure assessment suite, and not a staffing agency. Interview, score, rank and hand off in one place, shaped to the roles and rubric you already hire on.
Interviews every applicant
A role-tailored screening interview runs by voice or video, with smart follow-ups, on the candidate's schedule. Applicants consent and are told they are speaking with AI, so no qualified person waits days for a first call.
Scores to your rubric
Every answer is scored against the same structured rubric, with transcripts and highlights, so candidates are compared consistently and the scoring stays bias-audited against EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.
Ranks the shortlist
The strongest candidates are advanced into a ranked shortlist your recruiters review. The agent never auto-hires or rejects, it only surfaces who to talk to next, and your team makes every decision.

Six of the nine competitors publish a price on their own site. VidCruiter's own video interviewing page, read September 15, 2026, describes the market in three bands: lightweight one-way tools from around $75 to $150 a month, mid-market platforms typically $300 to $1,500 a month, and enterprise platforms, which it places itself in, custom-quoted. We only print a figure we read on the vendor's own page, in US dollars, on a date we state. What VidCruiter itself publishes about cost is on VidCruiter pricing.
Who are VidCruiter's competitors?
VidCruiter's real competitors are the vendors that turn up on the same shortlist, and they come from three directions. The first is other video interviewing platforms that record answers the way VidCruiter's pre-recorded product does: Spark Hire, Willo and Hireflix. They are the like-for-like swap for the recording job, and all three publish prices.
The second is enterprise hiring suites that compete on breadth, compliance and procurement fit: HireVue, Jobma and interviewstream. These are the VidCruiter rivals a public sector or large employer usually benchmarks against, because they also bundle scheduling, assessments and structured interview workflows. None of the three publishes a price.
The third group is newer and changes the comparison: AI interviewers that conduct the first-round conversation instead of collecting a recording. InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout and InterviewAgent.ai sit here. Review directories such as SelectHub, SaaSworthy and SourceForge also list applicant tracking systems like Lever and BambooHR as VidCruiter alternatives, which is technically true of the ATS module and not much help if what you are replacing is the interview.
Which VidCruiter competitors conduct the interview with AI?
Four on this page run a spoken AI interview: InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout, InterviewAgent.ai and HireVue on configurations that include its AI Interviewer. Jobma also markets an AI Interviewer alongside its recorded product. VidCruiter's AI works on the interview rather than in it: its navigation lists AI Candidate Screening, AI Interview Notes and AI Fraud Detection, and its video interviewing page says clients approve scoring rubrics before any candidate is assessed.
The difference matters more than the feature grid suggests. A recording can only be judged on what the candidate happened to say the first time. An agent in the conversation can ask the follow-up a recruiter would have asked when an answer is thin, then score the fuller answer. If your problem is that nobody on the team has hours to watch recordings, that is the capability to shortlist on.
VidCruiter makes a point worth giving it credit for: it states it never analyzes facial features, speaking patterns or accents. Hold every competitor to the same standard and ask for it in writing, including us. We score what candidates say against your rubric and do not infer anything from appearance or tone.
What is the best VidCruiter alternative for high volume hiring?
For high volume hiring, the best VidCruiter alternatives are the ones whose cost per screen stays low when applicant counts spike, and whose output is a ranked shortlist rather than a review queue. Among VidCruiter competitors for high volume hiring, InterviewFlowAI publishes about $0.83 to $0.99 per interview credit on Growth and Scale, InterviewAgent.ai works out to $0.50 to $0.80 per interview at full use on its Scale and Growth plans, and TalentSprout charges $2.50 per interview over its Growth allowance.
Recording tools look cheaper on the invoice and cost more in hours. Hireflix at $75 a month includes unlimited responses, which is genuinely generous, but 400 applicants recording four minutes each is more than 26 hours of footage before anyone has a shortlist. VidCruiter's own homepage now leads with high-volume hiring, so ask its sales team the same question you ask everyone else: who reviews the answers, and how long does that take at your volume.
Our high volume hiring software page covers how a first round is built for hundreds of applicants a week.
VidCruiter vs HireVue: which is better for enterprise and government hiring?
They are closer than most comparisons suggest, and neither publishes a price. Both sell recorded and live video interviewing, structured interview workflows and AI tooling to large and regulated employers. VidCruiter lists SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, PIPEDA and CCPA on its video interviewing page, with integrations into Workday, Oracle HCM, UKG, iCIMS, SAP SuccessFactors and Dayforce, and it markets named configurations for K-12, contact centers, public sector and manufacturing.
HireVue's differentiator for public buyers is certification. Its government page, read September 10, 2026, calls it the only FedRAMP authorized hiring solution for the public sector and says 8 of the 10 largest US federal departments use it. If a federal contract requires FedRAMP, that settles the VidCruiter vs HireVue question before price comes up. Among VidCruiter competitors for government hiring at state, county and city level, where FedRAMP is rarely required, interviewstream and VidCruiter itself are the more common shortlist pairing.
Our page on government interview software compares the public sector options on the audit trail and panel scoring they provide, and HireVue pricing sets out what HireVue does and does not disclose.
VidCruiter vs Spark Hire vs Willo: which costs less?
Spark Hire and Willo both publish, VidCruiter does not, so only two sides of that comparison have a number. In VidCruiter vs Spark Hire, Spark Hire video interviewing is $249 a month billed annually with unlimited jobs and users, or $299 month to month capped at 5 jobs and 5 users. In VidCruiter vs Willo, Willo Enterprise starts at $3,799 a year and Lite is $59 per live role a month, capped at 5 live roles. All three figures were read from the vendors' pages on September 15, 2026.
VidCruiter's own site gives a useful hint about where it expects to land. Its video interviewing page places lightweight one-way tools at around $75 to $150 a month and mid-market platforms at $300 to $1,500 a month, then puts VidCruiter in a separate enterprise band that is custom-quoted. Read literally, VidCruiter is telling you it will not be the cheaper option, and that the premium is paid for breadth, compliance and implementation support.
Whether that premium is worth it depends on how many modules you would actually use. The full cost breakdown for the two published rivals is on Spark Hire pricing and Willo pricing.
How do you choose between VidCruiter and its competitors?
Start from the job you need done in the first round, not from the feature list. If you need reference checks, proctoring, skills testing and an ATS from one vendor, VidCruiter's breadth is a real reason to choose it, and the best VidCruiter competitor is another suite. If you need candidates to record answers without anyone booking a calendar, Spark Hire, Willo or Hireflix does that for a published fee. If the bottleneck is that recruiters spend their week running or watching the same screen, shortlist an AI interviewer.
Then run the same three checks on every finalist. Ask for the price in writing on the same scope and volume, including overage and implementation. Ask what the recruiter receives at the end of the first round, and time how long it takes to turn that into a shortlist. And ask how the tool handles New York City Local Law 144, which requires an independent bias audit within the past year for automated tools that substantially assist a hiring decision.
- Which modules will you actually use in year one, and is the quote limited to those?
- What is the unit of pricing: seat, job, candidate, interview or platform access?
- Who conducts the first-round interview: a person, nobody, or an AI agent?
- What does a recruiter hold at the end of the round: recordings, notes, or a ranked shortlist with evidence?
- Which security certifications and ATS integrations are in your contract, not just on the website?
