interviewstream pricing and interviewstream cost compared with 10 video and AI interview tools
The short answer
interviewstream does not publish a price, so there is no public interviewstream pricing to quote. When we checked on October 8, 2026, interviewstream.com/pricing returned a page-not-found, every product page led to a Get a Demo button, and the only pricing statement on the site was a promise of one set monthly price with no overages. Directory listings also say to contact the vendor. If you want a published number to compare against, InterviewAgent.ai runs a scored AI first-round interview by voice or video from $149 a month for up to 100 interviews.
interviewstream is a Chicago video interviewing company that has sold to schools, hospitals and city governments for about two decades. It offers on-demand one-way video interviews, live video interviews, interview scheduling, hiring event scheduling, an interview builder, reporting, onboarding and two AI tools, and says more than 65,000 users work in it. We build a competing AI interview agent, so we have an interest here, and we say so up front.
interviewstream does not print a price, which is normal for vendors that sell to school districts and public agencies through quotes and procurement. That makes it hard to benchmark before a sales call. This page sets out what interviewstream does publish, read from its own site on October 8, 2026, explains what the price is likely to depend on, and compares it with ten interview tools, seven of which print a price. Where a figure is our calculation rather than a quote, we say so.

Why it works
What your team gets with interviewstream pricing
Priced in public
Plans are published at $149, $399, $999 and $1,998 a month, or half that billed yearly, so you can work out cost per interview before any call.
Conducted, not recorded
The agent asks the questions, follows up on thin answers and scores each one, so nobody on your team has to watch a queue of recordings.
A human makes the call
Every candidate reaches a recruiter with a transcript and the evidence behind each score. The agent never rejects anyone on its own.
What it handles
Interviewed, scored and shortlisted on autopilot
The agent invites each applicant, runs a role-tailored screening interview by voice or video, asks smart follow-ups, scores every answer against your rubric, and advances the strongest candidates into a ranked shortlist for your recruiters to review.
- Interviews every applicant by voice or video on the candidate's schedule
- Asks follow-up questions when an answer is vague
- Scores every answer against anchors your team wrote, identically for each candidate
- Returns a ranked shortlist with transcripts your recruiters can check in minutes
- Costs $0.25 to $1.49 per interview on published plans, with no cap on open roles
Why InterviewAgent.ai
One agent that runs the whole first round
Not a one-way video tool, not a six-figure assessment suite, and not a staffing agency. Interview, score, rank and hand off in one place, shaped to the roles and rubric you already hire on.
Interviews every applicant
A role-tailored screening interview runs by voice or video, with smart follow-ups, on the candidate's schedule. Applicants consent and are told they are speaking with AI, so no qualified person waits days for a first call.
Scores to your rubric
Every answer is scored against the same structured rubric, with transcripts and highlights, so candidates are compared consistently and the scoring stays bias-audited against EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.
Ranks the shortlist
The strongest candidates are advanced into a ranked shortlist your recruiters review. The agent never auto-hires or rejects, it only surfaces who to talk to next, and your team makes every decision.

Seven of the eleven vendors publish a price on their own site and four do not. interviewstream is the only one of the four that also states a pricing principle, one set monthly price with no overages, which is useful to quote back in a negotiation. For the wider field of recording tools see one-way video interview software.
How much does interviewstream cost?
interviewstream does not say. On October 8, 2026 the address interviewstream.com/pricing returned the site's page-not-found template, the main navigation had no pricing link, and every product page we read ended in a Get a Demo button. Its Capterra listing says buyers need to contact the vendor for pricing, and the SaaSworthy listing that calls the pricing custom was last updated in 2019. We found no figure on any page interviewstream controls.
There is one useful sentence. The demo page promises "one set price, no overages" and says your monthly price will not go up if you go over your normal amount of interviews. So interviewstream is sold as a monthly subscription sized to an expected volume, not as a per-interview meter. That protects you in a busy month, and it also means the number you are quoted is a judgment about your normal volume, which is worth negotiating with real data.
We do not publish third-party estimates for vendors that do not publish a price. The ones we found online do not trace back to interviewstream and are years old. A quote in writing is the only figure worth comparing.
What does an interviewstream subscription include?
interviewstream sells a suite of modules, and the quote depends on which ones you take. The site lists on-demand video interviews, where candidates record answers on their own time; live video interviews through Interview Connect; an interview scheduler with an advanced version; hiring event interview scheduling for job fairs and mass hiring days; an interview builder; interview insights reporting; employee onboarding; and two AI tools, AI Interview Summary and AI Recruiting Assistant.
Two details matter for budgeting. interview insights is only available with on-demand interviews, the scheduler and Interview Connect, so it is an add-on to a recording or scheduling product rather than something you buy alone. And SMS invitations and reminders are offered on on-demand interviews, which raises completion rates in hourly hiring. Ask which of these are in the base price and which are separate lines.
- Recording: on-demand one-way video interviews with SMS invitations, custom branding and team review
- Live: Interview Connect for live video interviews run by your interviewers
- Scheduling: interview scheduler, advanced scheduler and hiring event scheduling
- AI: AI Interview Summary on recorded answers and AI Recruiting Assistant for questions, job descriptions and emails
- Other: interview builder, interview insights reporting and employee onboarding
Does interviewstream use AI to interview candidates?
No. interviewstream's AI works on the interview after it is recorded, not in it. Its AI Interview Summary page describes the flow plainly: the candidate completes a one-way video interview with pre-set questions, the AI turns each response into a bullet-point summary, and each summary can carry an AI Confidence Score that tells the reviewer how closely it reflects what the candidate said. A person still watches, compares and decides.
The AI Recruiting Assistant is a writing tool. It drafts interview questions, job descriptions, emails and social posts. Neither tool asks a follow-up question or scores an answer against a rubric. That is a real difference in what you are buying. With interviewstream you buy a faster way to collect and review recordings. With an AI interview agent you buy the interview itself, conducted and scored, which is what our automated interview software does.
Is rivs the same company as interviewstream?
Yes, as far as the web addresses show. On October 8, 2026 rivs.com redirected to interviewstream.com, and rivs.com/pricing redirected to interviewstream's headquarters page. Capterra still lists the product as rivs digital interviewing in several countries. If you are searching for rivs pricing, the answer is the same as for interviewstream: no published price, and a quote after a demo.
If you are an existing rivs customer coming up for renewal, ask whether your contract terms, data retention settings and integrations carry over unchanged, and get the renewal price in writing before the notice period starts.
Who is interviewstream best for?
Public sector and education employers that want video interviewing and scheduling from a vendor that already knows their systems. K-12, healthcare and local government are its named industries, and the integrations page lists Frontline Education, ApplyToEducation and PowerSchool for schools, plus SAP SuccessFactors, iCIMS, Taleo, Bullhorn and an open API. Its product pages cite SOC 2 Type 2 certification and GDPR compliance. Hiring event scheduling is a genuine strength for teacher job fairs and hospital hiring days.
It is a weaker fit for a team whose bottleneck is the first interview itself. If recruiters are drowning because hundreds of applicants each need a 20-minute screen, a recording tool moves that work from the phone to video review rather than removing it. Our guide to the best AI interview software for school districts compares interviewstream with the other K-12 options, and the government interview software page covers public agencies.
What does interviewstream cost per interview compared with tools that publish a price?
You cannot calculate it until you have a quote, so calculate the alternatives first and bring them to the call. Among recording tools that print a price, Hireflix is $75 a month billed yearly for unlimited responses under 50 employees, Spark Hire is $249 a month billed annually with unlimited jobs and users, and Hirevire starts at $49 a month. For a recording tool, cost per interview falls the more you use it, because the fee is flat.
Among tools where an AI conducts the interview, Interviewer.AI works out to $2.77 to $6.65 per interview, Ribbon AI to $2.00 to $4.99, and our own plans to $1.49 per interview on Starter, $0.80 on Growth and $0.50 on Scale at monthly prices, and half that billed yearly. Those are floors that assume you use every included interview. The fair comparison with interviewstream is not price per recording but price per screened candidate including the reviewer hours, because on a recording tool someone still watches every answer.
What should you ask interviewstream before you sign?
Because the price is set per customer, the questions you ask decide what you pay. Go into the demo with your real interview volume for the last twelve months, the number of people who will review interviews, and the list of systems it must connect to.
- What counts as our normal amount of interviews, and what happens to the price at renewal if we exceed it every month?
- Which modules are in the quote, and what does each one cost if we drop it?
- Is the ATS integration, SMS messaging and interview insights included or priced separately?
- Is the price per user, per module or per organization, and how many reviewer seats are included?
- What is the contract term, the renewal uplift cap and the cancellation notice period?
- How long are recordings kept, and can we set retention to match our state records schedule?
What are the alternatives to interviewstream with published pricing?
For one-way recording with a price on the page, Hireflix, Spark Hire, Willo and Hirevire are the closest matches, and the cheapest of them cost less than $1,000 a year. For an AI that runs and scores the interview, Interviewer.AI, Ribbon AI and InterviewAgent.ai all publish prices. We start at $149 a month for up to 100 interviews, or $888 a year.
If you need a vendor that matches interviewstream's enterprise breadth, VidCruiter, HireVue and Jobma are its nearest rivals and none of them publish a price either. Full plan detail for two of the recording tools is on our Spark Hire pricing and Willo pricing pages, and the wider field is on AI interview software.
