HireVue pricing: what HireVue costs, its Essential and Premium plans, and priced alternatives
The short answer
HireVue does not publish a price. Its pricing page names two packages, Essential and Premium, and asks you to book a demo for a figure, which we confirmed on August 26, 2026. That means any specific HireVue dollar amount you read online came from a third party rather than from HireVue, and the published estimates in circulation disagree with each other by more than five times. Of the twelve vendors compared on this page, seven publish a real price on their own site and HireVue is not one of them.

Nobody lands on a HireVue pricing search out of curiosity. You are usually building a budget line, comparing a renewal quote against the market, or trying to work out whether a demo is worth ninety minutes of your week before your CFO asks what it costs. The frustrating part is that HireVue does not tell you, and neither do most of its closest rivals.
What you get instead is a field of articles quoting confident annual figures that trace back to procurement aggregators, anonymous buyer reports and each other. We checked those sources while writing this page and they contradict each other badly, so we are not going to add a thirteenth guess to the pile. What follows is the part that is actually verifiable: exactly what HireVue says on its own pricing page, what its two named packages are, why the estimates vary so wildly, and what every comparable vendor charges where the number is published in public. Prices below were read on each vendor's own pricing page on the date shown, in US dollars.

Why it works
What your team gets with hirevue pricing
Priced in public
Our plans are published rather than quoted after a discovery call, so you can size the line item before you spend ninety minutes on a demo. We also say plainly that these are launch prices and the product is not on sale yet.
Conducted, not recorded
The agent runs the first-round interview itself, asks its own follow-ups and scores each answer, so the output is a ranked shortlist rather than a queue of videos somebody still has to watch.
Human final call
Candidates are advanced to recruiter review, never auto-rejected, with consent, AI disclosure and bias auditing aligned to EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.
What it handles
Interviewed, scored and shortlisted on autopilot
The agent invites each applicant, runs a role-tailored screening interview by voice or video, asks smart follow-ups, scores every answer against your rubric, and advances the strongest candidates into a ranked shortlist for your recruiters to review.
- Interviews every applicant on the req without a recruiter attending
- Asks unscripted follow-ups when an answer is vague or a claim needs testing
- Scores answers against the rubric you set, identically for every candidate
- Returns a ranked shortlist with transcripts and highlights, not just recordings
- Publishes what it costs instead of quoting you after a discovery call
Why InterviewAgent.ai
One agent that runs the whole first round
Not a one-way video tool, not a six-figure assessment suite, and not a staffing agency. Interview, score, rank and hand off in one place, shaped to the roles and rubric you already hire on.
Interviews every applicant
A role-tailored screening interview runs by voice or video, with smart follow-ups, on the candidate's schedule. Applicants consent and are told they are speaking with AI, so no qualified person waits days for a first call.
Scores to your rubric
Every answer is scored against the same structured rubric, with transcripts and highlights, so candidates are compared consistently and the scoring stays bias-audited against EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.
Ranks the shortlist
The strongest candidates are advanced into a ranked shortlist your recruiters review. The agent never auto-hires or rejects, it only surfaces who to talk to next, and your team makes every decision.

Seven of the twelve vendors above publish a price on their own site and five do not. We only print a figure we read on the vendor's own pricing page, in US dollars, on a date we state, because pricing pages in this category are unusually easy to misread. One vendor on this list defaults its pricing page to pounds with a currency selector, and we once "corrected" a US figure that had never been wrong because of it. Our own prices are the ones we intend to launch with, and the product is not on sale yet, which we say on our pricing page rather than only here.
How much does HireVue cost?
HireVue does not publish a cost. As of August 26, 2026 its pricing page names an Essential package and a Premium package, describes the platform as built for your specific hiring needs, and routes you to a demo request and an ROI calculator instead of a figure. There is no price table, no per-interview rate and no self-serve checkout anywhere on the site.
That is a deliberate enterprise sales model rather than an oversight. HireVue sells assessment, interviewing and hiring workflow as a bundle to large employers, and bundles like that get scoped against your applicant volume, your integrations and your contract length before anyone quotes a number. The practical consequence for you is that the only way to learn what HireVue would cost your organization is to go through a discovery call, and that the figure is negotiable in a way a published price is not.
If you need a budget number before you can justify that call, the honest workaround is to price the alternatives that do publish, treat those as the floor of the market, and expect an enterprise assessment suite to sit meaningfully above them. The table above gives you the published half of that picture.
Why do HireVue pricing estimates online vary so much?
Because none of them come from HireVue. When a vendor publishes nothing, every article has to source a number somewhere else, and the available sources are procurement aggregators reporting anonymized contract data, individual buyers describing one quote, and other articles repeating the first two. Those inputs are not comparable to each other. A quote for a 300-person company buying interviewing alone and a quote for a global employer buying the full assessment suite on a three-year term are both real, and they are nowhere near each other.
When we surveyed the estimates in circulation in August 2026, the annual figures being asserted for HireVue spanned a range wider than five to one, and several were presented with no source at all. We are not going to reprint them, including the one you have probably already seen, because a number we cannot trace to HireVue is not information, it is a rumor with a dollar sign.
This is the same reason we date every price in the table above. Two of the third-party figures we checked recently for other vendors did not match those vendors' own published pages, and one widely repeated annual range for a vendor that publishes nothing could not be sourced anywhere. Treat any specific HireVue figure you find, on this site or another, as unverified unless the publisher shows you where it came from.
What are the HireVue Essential and Premium packages?
They are the two package tiers HireVue names on its pricing page, described only as spanning from Essential to Premium with the platform built for your specific hiring needs. HireVue does not publish a feature matrix mapping capabilities to those tiers, so what sits in each one is established during your sales conversation rather than in advance.
We will not guess at the contents, because vendor tier structures change and describing them wrongly is worse than saying nothing. What we can tell you is what to establish on the call: which package includes the AI Interviewer that HireVue shipped in June 2026, which includes the assessment library that came with its acquisition of Modern Hire in May 2023, whether structured scoring and your ATS integration are in the base package or added on, and what happens to the price when your applicant volume grows mid-term.
That last question matters more than the tier names. In this category the tier you start on is rarely what determines your bill three years in. Volume, seats, integrations and add-on modules are.
Is HireVue free?
No. HireVue has no free plan, no free tier and no published trial on its pricing page. It is enterprise software sold on an annual contract after a demo, and the entry point is a sales conversation rather than a signup form.
Candidates sometimes search this question too, and the answer there is different: if an employer has asked you to complete a HireVue interview, it costs you nothing. HireVue is paid for by the company hiring, never by the applicant. If anything asks you to pay to take or practice an assessment, it is not HireVue.
Among the vendors in the table, Metaview and Fabric are the only two that publish a genuinely free tier, both metered rather than time-limited: Metaview covers 25 calls a month on AI Notes, and Fabric includes 200 credits. Those are useful for evaluating a product with real interviews, which is worth more than a two-week trial you forget to use.
What is HireVue's pricing model, per interview or per year?
HireVue does not state its pricing model in public, so we cannot tell you, and any page that states one confidently is inferring. What we can say is that the two shapes buyers most often ask about, per interview and per year, behave very differently over a contract, and it is worth knowing which one you are being offered before you compare quotes.
A per-interview or per-applicant model tracks your hiring volume, which feels fair in a flat year and punishes you in a growth year or a seasonal peak. An annual platform fee is predictable and gets expensive if your hiring slows or a hiring freeze arrives halfway through the term. A per-seat model, which is what most interview intelligence vendors use, looks cheap when three recruiters are using it and changes character the moment twenty hiring managers want logins.
The vendors that publish show all three shapes, which is useful for calibration: Hireflix and Spark Hire sell flat platform access with unlimited seats on their annual plans, Metaview charges per user, Kula charges on your company headcount, Fabric charges in credits, and Sapia.ai prices per hire. When you get a HireVue quote, ask which of those it resembles and what triggers it to increase.
What should you ask on a HireVue pricing call?
A quote-only vendor puts all the pricing information on one side of the table, and the only way to level it is to ask precise questions and write down the answers. These seven are the ones that change the number most.
- What is the total contract value for the full term, not the first-year figure, and what is the assumed annual uplift at renewal?
- Is the price driven by applicants, interviews, hires, seats or headcount, and what specifically happens if that number doubles mid-term?
- Is implementation, ATS integration or assessment configuration billed separately from the platform fee, and how much?
- Which package includes the AI Interviewer, and which includes the assessment content that came from Modern Hire?
- Is the contract annual, multi-year or month-to-month, and what is the exit path if the product does not work for our roles?
- If the product scores or ranks candidates, is it an automated employment decision tool where we hire? In New York City, Local Law 144 requires an independent bias audit from the past twelve months, a published summary, and ten business days of notice to candidates, and the duty follows the job location rather than your headquarters.
- Who is responsible for interview recording consent in the states that require all-party consent, and does that obligation follow the candidate's state?
Which AI interview platforms publish their pricing?
Seven of the twelve on this page do. Hireflix publishes $75 and $150 a month by company size. Spark Hire publishes video interviewing from $249 a month on annual billing and from $299 monthly. Willo publishes Enterprise from $3,799 a year and Lite at $59 per live role. Metaview publishes $60 per user a month for AI Notes and $100 to $300 for AI Sourcing. Fabric publishes $199 to $499 a month. Kula publishes $5,120 a year for companies under fifty people. We publish $149, $399 and $999 a month, and we say plainly that these are launch prices and you cannot buy yet.
The five that publish nothing are HireVue, Sapia.ai, VidCruiter, Paradox and Apriora. That is a legitimate way to sell enterprise software and it is also a real cost to you. A shortlist of five quote-only vendors is five discovery calls, five rounds of internal approvals and usually several weeks before you know whether any of them fit the budget you were given.
A practical sequencing tip: price the published vendors first and use those figures to set your own expectation, then take the quote-only demos with a number already in your head. Buyers who walk into a discovery call with no anchor tend to be quoted against their perceived budget rather than against the market.
Is HireVue worth it for a small business?
Usually not, and the shape of the sale tells you why before the price does. HireVue is built for employers running assessment science across thousands of applicants, with the integration work, validation evidence and enterprise contracting that implies. A 40-person company hiring for eight roles a year is buying a very large amount of process it will never use, and paying for the account management around it.
The published end of the market is where smaller US employers usually land. Hireflix at $75 a month under fifty staff and Spark Hire from $249 a month annually are the cheapest ways to get candidate answers recorded and reviewable, though on both of those your team still watches the recordings. If the constraint is that nobody has the hours to conduct or review first rounds at all, recording does not fix it, and the comparison worth running is between vendors whose software actually conducts the interview.
For the fuller head-to-head on features rather than cost, our HireVue alternative page covers the swap in detail, and HireVue competitors maps the wider field. If your shortlist has drifted into notetakers, Metaview competitors separates the two categories.
