How InterviewAgent.ai, the AI interview agent that runs first-round screening interviews and returns a ranked, rubric-scored shortlist, collects, uses and protects candidate and recruiter information. Last updated: June 2026.

The short version

InterviewAgent.ai conducts first-round screening interviews on behalf of hiring teams and returns transcripts, rubric-based scores and a ranked shortlist that a recruiter reviews. Every candidate is clearly told they are speaking with an AI interviewer and gives consent before the interview begins. The AI never hires or rejects anyone on its own. A person always makes the final hiring decision. We collect only the data needed to run interviews and operate this site, we protect it with encryption, and we never sell it.

AI disclosure to candidates

Before any interview starts, the candidate is told clearly and in plain language that they are being interviewed by an AI interview agent, not a human. The disclosure explains what the AI does, that the conversation is recorded and scored, and that the results support a recruiter who makes the final decision. Candidates can ask questions and request a human alternative through the customer who invited them.

Candidate consent

We process a candidate's interview only after the candidate has been given the AI disclosure and has provided consent to take part and to be recorded. Customers using InterviewAgent.ai are responsible for surfacing this consent step and for honoring any candidate who declines. A candidate may withdraw at any point, and we will stop the interview when they do.

What data we collect

  • Interview content. The audio and video of the screening interview, the generated transcript, the candidate's answers, and the structured rubric scores and highlights produced from them.
  • Candidate contact and role data. Information the customer provides or the candidate supplies, such as name, email, the role applied for and scheduling details.
  • Recruiter and account data. The work email and account details of the recruiter or team that signs up and configures interviews.
  • Site and usage data. When you visit interviewagent.ai, sign up or contact us, we collect the email you submit, aggregate analytics about how the site is used, and standard log data such as IP address, browser type and the page or campaign you arrived from, used for security and to understand traffic sources. We use a short verification code to confirm your email.

The interactive demo on this website runs on sample data in your browser. It does not interview a real person and nothing you type into it is uploaded.

How we use information (recruiter decision-support only)

  • To conduct the screening interview, generate the transcript, and produce rubric-based scores, highlights and a ranked shortlist for the recruiter to review.
  • To support, never to replace, the recruiter's judgment. Scores and rankings are decision-support inputs. A qualified person reviews them and makes the hiring decision.
  • To set up and operate accounts, verify email addresses and respond to questions.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the product and site are used so we can improve them.
  • To protect the service from abuse, fraud and security threats.

We do not use interview content to make automated hiring or rejection decisions, and we do not sell candidate data.

Fairness and bias auditing

InterviewAgent.ai scores every candidate against the same role-tailored, structured rubric so that candidates are evaluated on consistent, job-related criteria. We design our scoring and monitoring to support compliance with equal employment opportunity law, including the EEOC's guidance, and with New York City Local Law 144 on automated employment decision tools, which calls for bias auditing and candidate notice. We support customers who need to obtain and publish an independent bias audit and to provide the required candidate notices. We do not collect protected characteristics to drive scoring, and we work to reduce disparate impact in how the agent evaluates answers. We do not claim the system is free of bias or perfectly accurate.

Human in the loop, no automated decisions

The AI interview agent does not auto-hire, auto-reject or rank candidates into a final outcome on its own. Its output is a shortlist with transcripts, scores and highlights that a recruiter reviews. People decide who advances. This is decision-support, not autonomous hiring.

Data retention

Interview recordings, transcripts and scores are retained for the period the customer configures or that applicable law requires, and then deleted or anonymized. Contact details submitted on this site are kept for as long as needed to operate accounts and to meet legal and security obligations. Candidates and customers can request deletion of data they submitted, and we will honor it unless we are required to retain it.

Security and encryption

Interview data is sensitive, so security is a first-class concern. We encrypt candidate and interview data in transit and at rest, apply least-privilege access, and limit who can view interview content to those who need it. We keep this public website separate from production interview workflows. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to collect as little of it as possible. We do not claim any certification or status we do not hold.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it with the customer that invited the candidate so they can review the interview, and with service providers, such as our hosting, email delivery and analytics providers, only to the extent they need it to perform their function. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and our users.

Candidate and user rights

Candidates may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their interview data, may decline an AI interview through the customer that invited them, and may ask about how a decision involving them was reached. Site visitors can access, correct or delete the details they submitted and opt out of non-essential email at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. To exercise any of these, email us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product and site evolve. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
