Spark Hire alternative where the AI conducts the screening interview
The short answer
Spark Hire is a video interviewing platform and a recruiting ATS. Its video interview product starts at 249 dollars a month billed yearly (299 monthly), and the Recruit ATS tiers start at 335 dollars a month. Humans still conduct the interviews there: candidates either record one-way answers or meet a recruiter on live video, and the AI transcribes and summarizes. InterviewAgent.ai conducts the first-round interview itself, scores each answer against your rubric, and returns a ranked shortlist, from 149 dollars a month.
Last updated July 2026
Spark Hire has been in video interviewing longer than almost anyone, and the product shows it: one-way video interviews, live video rounds, reference checks, assessments, and since its acquisitions a full recruiting ATS. If you want one system that holds the pipeline and lets your team interview inside it, that is a reasonable place to land, and unlike most of this market it publishes prices.
What it does not do is conduct the interview. Somebody on your side still watches the one-way recordings, or sits on the live call. InterviewAgent.ai takes that first round off your team completely: the agent runs a structured screening interview by voice or video, asks role-tailored questions, follows up on the answers, scores each one against your rubric, and hands recruiters a ranked shortlist with full transcripts and highlights. Candidates consent with clear AI disclosure, screening is bias-audited for EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144, and a human makes every hiring decision.

Why teams pick InterviewAgent.ai
One agent that runs the whole first round
The screen runs without you
One-way video moves the work rather than removing it, because the recordings still get watched. A conducted interview means the first round is finished before a recruiter opens the tool.
Scored, not just summarized
Summaries tell you what a candidate said. A rubric score tells you how good the answer was, against the same anchors for everyone, with the transcript line that drove it.
Focused, and priced like it
We do one thing: the first-round interview, from 149 dollars a month. If you need an ATS, keep the one you have. The agent hands the shortlist back to it.
Does Spark Hire have an AI interviewer?
Not one that conducts the interview. Spark Hire uses AI to transcribe one-way video interviews, generate summaries of what candidates said, and review resumes inside its Recruit ATS tiers. The interviewing itself is done by a candidate recording answers to your preset questions, or by a human on a live video call.
That is the line worth being precise about when you compare vendors, because almost everyone in this category now uses the word AI somewhere on the homepage. The useful question is whether the software decides what to ask next based on the answer it just heard. Spark Hire does not do that. An AI interview agent does, which is the entire reason the first round can happen without your team in it.
How much does Spark Hire cost?
Verified in July 2026: Spark Hire video interviewing starts at 249 dollars a month billed annually with unlimited jobs and users, or 299 dollars a month billed monthly, which caps you at 5 jobs and 5 users. Its behavioral assessment product is priced the same way. The Recruit ATS plans start at 335 dollars a month billed annually for companies up to 200 employees, with Recruit Growth at 499 for up to 500 employees, and a custom Enterprise tier.
InterviewAgent.ai starts at 149 dollars a month, with 399 and 999 dollar tiers for higher interview volume. The comparison that actually matters, though, is against recruiter hours: a hundred fifteen-minute phone screens is roughly 850 dollars of a recruiter earning 70,000 dollars a year, every single time a role opens. Our AI interview software cost guide lays out the whole market with verified numbers.
Should I replace my ATS or just the screening round?
Replacing an ATS is a migration project, and it is rarely why teams start shopping. The pain that sends people looking is almost always the screening round: too many applicants, not enough recruiter hours, and good candidates going cold in a queue. Spark Hire answers that by selling you the whole pipeline. We answer it by fixing the one round that does not scale.
So the practical split is this. If your ATS is fine and the bottleneck is screening, add an interview agent and keep your system of record; scores, transcripts and shortlist status write back to it. If your ATS is genuinely broken and you were going to replace it anyway, a suite like Spark Hire is a legitimate option, and you can still put a conducted first round in front of it.
What do you lose by switching from Spark Hire?
Honesty matters more than a clean sweep in the comparison table, so: Spark Hire is broader than we are. It bundles reference checks, behavioral assessments, live human video rounds, and an ATS with resume review. We do none of those. We conduct the first-round interview, score it, and rank the shortlist.
If your team wants one vendor for everything and is comfortable running the interviews itself, Spark Hire is a fair choice and we would rather you knew that here than found out after a migration. Teams switch to us for the opposite reason: they do not want another platform to log into, they want the screening interviews to already be done. That is the trade, and it is worth being clear-eyed about which side of it you are on.
