Spark Hire competitors: companies like Spark Hire, and 9 video and AI interview platforms compared

The short answer

Spark Hire competitors fall into three groups. Recording platforms that do the same one-way video job: Willo, Hireflix, VidCruiter and Jobma. Enterprise suites bought for breadth and procurement fit: HireVue and interviewstream. And AI interviewers that conduct the first-round conversation rather than collecting a recording: InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout and InterviewAgent.ai. Spark Hire is one of the few in this market that publishes a price, $249 a month billed annually for video interviewing. The decision is rarely about video quality. It is about who does the interviewing and who watches the result.

Most people looking up Spark Hire competitors are already past the demo stage. Spark Hire is a real product with a real price on its website, which already puts it ahead of half this market, and its one-way video interviews do what they say: you write the questions, candidates record answers on their own time, your team reviews them later. The reason buyers start shopping anyway is almost always the last part of that sentence. Recording is the cheap half of screening. Watching is the expensive half, and no recording tool makes it smaller.

This page compares Spark Hire with the nine platforms that turn up on the same shortlists, on the two things that decide the bill: who conducts the interview, and what a recruiter is holding when the round ends. Every price below was read off the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown. Where a vendor publishes nothing, that is what the row says, because an invented number helps nobody choosing between real quotes.

Why it works

What your team gets with Spark Hire competitors

Priced in public

Our plans are published rather than quoted after a discovery call, so you can put us next to any Spark Hire renewal figure before you book anything.

Conducted, not recorded

The agent runs the first-round interview itself, asks its own follow-ups and scores each answer, so what comes back is a ranked shortlist rather than a queue of recordings somebody still has to watch.

Human final call

Candidates are advanced to recruiter review, never auto-rejected, with consent, AI disclosure and bias auditing aligned to EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.

What it handles

Interviewed, scored and shortlisted on autopilot

The agent invites each applicant, runs a role-tailored screening interview by voice or video, asks smart follow-ups, scores every answer against your rubric, and advances the strongest candidates into a ranked shortlist for your recruiters to review.

  • Interviews every applicant on the req without a recruiter attending
  • Asks unscripted follow-ups when an answer is vague or a claim needs testing
  • Scores answers against the rubric you set, identically for every candidate
  • Returns a ranked shortlist with transcripts and highlights, not hours of footage
  • Works alongside the ATS you already run instead of replacing it

Why InterviewAgent.ai

One agent that runs the whole first round

Not a one-way video tool, not a six-figure assessment suite, and not a staffing agency. Interview, score, rank and hand off in one place, shaped to the roles and rubric you already hire on.

Interviews every applicant

A role-tailored screening interview runs by voice or video, with smart follow-ups, on the candidate's schedule. Applicants consent and are told they are speaking with AI, so no qualified person waits days for a first call.

Scores to your rubric

Every answer is scored against the same structured rubric, with transcripts and highlights, so candidates are compared consistently and the scoring stays bias-audited against EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.

Ranks the shortlist

The strongest candidates are advanced into a ranked shortlist your recruiters review. The agent never auto-hires or rejects, it only surfaces who to talk to next, and your team makes every decision.

Six of the ten vendors publish a price on their own site, which is unusually good for this market and makes Spark Hire easier to benchmark than most incumbents. Two figures on this page are worth reading twice. Spark Hire's month-to-month video plan costs more than its annual plan and gives you less: $299 a month capped at 5 jobs and 5 users, against $249 a month billed annually with jobs and users unlimited. And its Behavioral Assessment product is priced identically to video interviewing, $299 monthly or $249 annually, so buying both stand-alone products lands at $498 a month before anyone has been interviewed. Willo Enterprise and the Spark Hire tiers are published as floor prices, so treat them as the start of a quote rather than the cost.

Who are Spark Hire's competitors?

Spark Hire competitors come from three directions, and confusing them is the most common mistake on this shortlist. The first group is other one-way video platforms doing the same core job: Willo, Hireflix, VidCruiter and Jobma. These are the like-for-like swaps. If you bought Spark Hire to collect recorded answers and you are happy with that, this is the group where a cheaper or better-fitting tool lives.

The brand is written both ways in searches, so sparkhire competitors and Spark Hire competitors mean the same shortlist. The second group of Spark Hire rivals is the enterprise hiring suites, HireVue and interviewstream, which compete on breadth, security certifications and procurement fit rather than on the interview itself. Neither publishes a price. A mid-size team rarely ends up here unless legal or IT has a requirement that forces it, and when that happens the requirement decides the vendor long before the budget does.

The third group is the one that changes the arithmetic: AI interviewers that conduct the first-round conversation instead of recording it. InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout and InterviewAgent.ai sit here, and HireVue belongs partly here too on configurations that include its AI Interviewer. Review directories will also list applicant tracking systems such as Breezy HR, Jobvite and Workable as companies like Spark Hire, which is fair only if you were using Spark Hire Recruit, its ATS, rather than the video product. Those are different purchases with different budget owners.

Spark Hire vs Willo: which is better for one-way video interviews?

On the interview itself they are close, so the honest split is pricing shape. Spark Hire video interviewing is $249 a month billed annually with unlimited jobs and users. Willo Lite is $59 per live role a month, capped at 5 roles, 5 users and 150 assessed candidates per role, with no contract. Willo Enterprise starts at $3,799 a year. In Spark Hire vs Willo, sometimes typed sparkhire vs willo, the deciding question is not features but how evenly your hiring is spread across the year.

Run the numbers on your own pattern rather than on a vendor comparison. A team with four or five roles open continuously pays Spark Hire roughly $2,988 a year for unlimited jobs, while the same team on Willo Lite pays about $2,832 for five roles, which is close enough to be a tie. A team that opens two roles in March, nothing in the summer, then six in September pays Willo only for the months roles are live and pays Spark Hire for twelve. Bursty hiring favors Willo. Steady hiring favors Spark Hire.

Willo also publishes a 50% non-profit discount, which is rare in this market and genuinely material for a mission-driven employer. Neither tool conducts the interview: both collect answers and leave the watching to you. Full plan detail is on our Spark Hire pricing and Willo pricing pages.

Spark Hire vs HireVue: which fits a bigger hiring team?

This one, searched as often as sparkhire vs hirevue, is usually settled by procurement rather than by product. HireVue publishes no price at all: it names Essential and Premium packages and routes you to a demo, so there is no way to compare it on cost without booking a sales call. Spark Hire prints its number. For a team of five recruiters that difference alone decides several weeks of evaluation time.

Where HireVue earns the premium is certification and scale. Its government page states FedRAMP authorization for the public sector, and it sells assessments, structured interview workflows and an AI Interviewer alongside recorded video. If a contract or a security review requires FedRAMP or a specific certification, the Spark Hire vs HireVue question is answered before anyone opens a spreadsheet. If it does not, you are paying enterprise pricing for capability a mid-size team will not use in year one.

What neither vendor changes is the review load on a recorded round. Both leave a recruiter opening submissions one at a time unless you buy into the AI tier. HireVue pricing sets out exactly what HireVue does and does not disclose.

Which Spark Hire competitor is cheapest?

On sticker price the best Spark Hire competitor is Hireflix, at $75 a month billed yearly for companies under 50 employees with unlimited seats, positions and responses. Spark Hire vs Hireflix is the cleanest like-for-like on this page, because both record answers and only one of them publishes a price under $100. Willo Lite at $59 per live role is cheaper still if you only ever have one role open. Among the AI interviewers, InterviewFlowAI Pilot starts at $59 a month for 20 credits and InterviewAgent.ai starts at $149 a month for 100 conducted and scored interviews.

The sticker price is the wrong comparison and it is worth showing why with real arithmetic. Two hundred applicants recording four minutes of answers each is about 13 hours of footage. At a loaded recruiter cost of $40 an hour, that is roughly $530 of labor sitting behind a $75 licence, every month it happens. Scale it to a 400-applicant req and the review bill passes $1,000 while the software line stays at $75. Cost per screened candidate, with review hours counted, is the only comparison that survives contact with a real hiring quarter.

That is also the honest case against us on a small req. If you post two roles a year and watch eleven recordings yourself, Hireflix at $75 is the right answer and no AI interviewer will beat it. The maths flips somewhere around the point where nobody on the team has a free afternoon.

  • Hireflix $75 a month, under 50 employees, unlimited responses, you watch them
  • Willo Lite $59 per live role a month, ideal for one or two roles at a time
  • InterviewFlowAI Pilot $59 a month for 20 interview credits
  • InterviewAgent.ai $149 a month for 100 interviews conducted and scored
  • Spark Hire $249 a month billed annually, unlimited jobs and users, nobody conducting

Which Spark Hire competitors conduct the interview with AI?

Three on this page run a spoken AI interview end to end: InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout and InterviewAgent.ai. HireVue does on configurations that include its AI Interviewer, and Jobma markets an AI Interviewer it describes as agentic AI alongside its recorded product. Spark Hire does not. Its AI summarizes what was recorded, which is useful and is not the same capability.

The distinction decides what your Monday looks like. A recorded answer can only be judged on whatever the candidate happened to say the first time, and a thin answer stays thin because nobody was there to ask the obvious follow-up. An agent in the conversation notices that the answer skipped the part that mattered, asks about it, and scores the fuller answer against criteria you wrote before applications opened. What comes back is a ranked shortlist with the transcript quote behind each score, rather than a folder of video.

Hold every vendor in this group to the same standard, including us. Ask in writing what the model scores and what it ignores. We score what candidates say against your rubric and infer nothing from appearance, accent or speaking pace, and candidates are advanced to recruiter review rather than auto-rejected. Our one-way video interview software page covers where recording genuinely is the better tool.

How do you choose between Spark Hire and its competitors?

Start from the bottleneck you actually have. If candidates are dropping out because scheduling a first call takes nine days, any on-demand tool in this table fixes that, and the cheapest one that integrates with your ATS wins. If your recruiters are drowning in submissions they have no time to watch, no recording tool will help, and the Spark Hire competitors with AI scoring are the shortlist: the three AI interviewers plus HireVue. The same logic picks the Spark Hire competitors for high volume hiring, where cost per screened candidate decides it rather than the monthly licence.

Then run the same four checks on every finalist rather than comparing feature grids. Ask for the price in writing on your real volume, including overage. Ask what the recruiter holds when the round closes. Ask what the tool does with a candidate who never finishes. And ask how it handles New York City Local Law 144, which requires an independent bias audit and candidate notice for automated employment decision tools used on NYC roles, because that obligation follows the employer and not the vendor.

One last practical note specific to Spark Hire. Its Recruit Pro ATS plan at $335 a month already includes one-way video and now carries a stated cap of 200 employees, so the full applicant tracking system is only $86 a month more than the stand-alone video product. If you were going to buy an ATS anyway, comparing Spark Hire's video plan against other video tools is comparing the wrong line item. The head-to-head with us is on our Spark Hire alternative page, and VidCruiter competitors covers the same field from the enterprise end.

  • What is the unit of pricing: seat, job, candidate, interview or platform access?
  • Who conducts the first-round interview: a person, nobody, or an AI agent?
  • What does a recruiter hold at the end of the round: recordings, notes, or a ranked shortlist with evidence?
  • Does the monthly plan cost more and cap more than the annual one, as Spark Hire's does?
  • Which ATS integrations and security terms are in the contract, not just on the website?

Good questions

Questions about Spark Hire competitors

The closest companies like Spark Hire are Willo, Hireflix, VidCruiter and Jobma, which all sell one-way recorded video interviews to employers. HireVue and interviewstream compete on enterprise breadth. InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout and InterviewAgent.ai are a different category: they conduct and score the interview rather than recording it. If you used Spark Hire Recruit, its applicant tracking system, the comparable products are Breezy HR, Jobvite and Workable instead.
Spark Hire video interviewing is $249 a month billed annually, with unlimited jobs and users, or $299 month to month capped at 5 jobs and 5 users, read from its pricing page on September 16, 2026. Its Recruit applicant tracking plans start at $335 a month for up to 200 employees and $499 for up to 500, with Enterprise quoted. Behavioral Assessment is priced the same as video interviewing.
Yes, several. Hireflix publishes $75 a month billed yearly for companies under 50 employees with unlimited responses, and Willo Lite is $59 per live role a month. Both record answers rather than conduct the interview, so the review hours stay with your team. Among tools that conduct the interview, InterviewFlowAI starts at $59 a month for 20 credits and InterviewAgent.ai at $149 for 100.
Not to score them. Spark Hire applies AI to summarize recorded answers and its Recruit plans include AI resume review and AI notetaker hours. The interview itself is still a recording that a person watches and judges. Vendors that score the answers against a rubric are a separate group: InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout, InterviewAgent.ai and HireVue on its AI Interviewer configurations.
Because the annual commitment is discounted about 17% and also removes the caps. The month-to-month video plan is $299 and limits you to 5 jobs and 5 users; the annual plan is $249 a month with jobs and users unlimited. Buyers who choose monthly for flexibility are paying more per month for a smaller product, which is worth catching before renewal rather than after.
For the first-round interview, yes, and we are the cheaper entry point at $149 a month against $249. We do not sell an applicant tracking system, behavioral assessments or e-signature, so we do not replace Spark Hire Recruit. Where a team bought Spark Hire mainly to stop scheduling first calls, our agent conducts and scores that round and returns a ranked shortlist instead of recordings.
