Willo competitors: 10 video interview and AI interview platforms compared

The short answer

Willo competitors split into two groups that shortlists keep mixing together. Most of them work the way Willo does, showing a candidate fixed questions, recording the answers and applying AI afterwards: Spark Hire, Hireflix, VidCruiter and Jobma's recorded rounds all sit here. A smaller group conducts the interview instead, with an AI agent that asks follow-up questions and scores answers against a rubric while the conversation is happening: InterviewAgent.ai, Sapia.ai, Alex from Apriora, Fabric, and HireVue since it shipped AI Interviewer. Of the ten vendors below, five publish a price on their own site and five quote only after a demo.

Last updated September 2026

Willo earned its shortlist place by solving the scheduling problem cleanly. Candidates get a link, record answers to your questions on their own time, and nobody books anything. The company says it is trusted by more than 5,000 hiring teams, holds ISO 27001, and its pricing page carries a G2 ranking it has held for three years. For a team drowning in first-round calendar invites, that is a genuine fix and it works on a phone.

The reason people start looking at Willo competitors is usually one of three things, and they lead to different answers. Either the recorded format is not deep enough, because nobody asks the follow-up when a candidate gives a vague answer. Or the plan that fits the budget turns out not to include the thing the shortlist was built around, which on Willo means ATS integration. Or the volume caps bite: Lite is sold per live role and assesses 150 candidates on each one. The comparison below draws the line that matters before the feature lists do, which is whether a human, an AI agent, or nobody at all is running your first round.

Why it works

What your team gets with Willo competitors

A conversation, not a recording

The agent listens and asks the follow-up when an answer is thin, so a candidate who gives a vague first answer gets pushed for the specifics. In recorded video that answer just stays vague and gets scored as given.

No pile of video to watch

Async tools move the bottleneck rather than removing it: the recordings still queue up. Here every interview arrives already scored against your rubric and ranked, with the transcript behind each rating.

Both of us publish a price

Willo is one of the few vendors in this market that publishes real pricing, and so do we. That makes the comparison one you can run without booking a sales call first.

What it handles

Interviewed, scored and shortlisted on autopilot

The agent invites each applicant, runs a role-tailored screening interview by voice or video, asks smart follow-ups, scores every answer against your rubric, and advances the strongest candidates into a ranked shortlist for your recruiters to review.

  • Interviews every applicant on the req without a recruiter attending
  • Asks unscripted follow-ups when an answer is vague or a claim needs testing
  • Scores answers against the rubric you set, identically for every candidate
  • Returns a ranked shortlist with transcripts and highlights, not a folder of video
  • Keeps consent, AI disclosure and the human final decision in place

Why InterviewAgent.ai

One agent that runs the whole first round

Not a one-way video tool, not a six-figure assessment suite, and not a staffing agency. Interview, score, rank and hand off in one place, shaped to the roles and rubric you already hire on.

Interviews every applicant

A role-tailored screening interview runs by voice or video, with smart follow-ups, on the candidate's schedule. Applicants consent and are told they are speaking with AI, so no qualified person waits days for a first call.

Scores to your rubric

Every answer is scored against the same structured rubric, with transcripts and highlights, so candidates are compared consistently and the scoring stays bias-audited against EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.

Ranks the shortlist

The strongest candidates are advanced into a ranked shortlist your recruiters review. The agent never auto-hires or rejects, it only surfaces who to talk to next, and your team makes every decision.

Every figure above was read on the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown, in US dollars. Willo's page defaults to GBP and carries a currency selector, so the USD numbers come from switching it rather than converting the pound figures ourselves. Two published prices are floors rather than prices: Willo Enterprise and Spark Hire video interviewing both say "from", so the real figure arrives after a demo. Where a vendor publishes nothing we write "not published" instead of repeating a third-party estimate. Our own prices are the ones we intend to launch with, and the product is not on sale yet, which we say plainly on the pricing page rather than only here.

Who are Willo's competitors?

Companies like Willo cluster into three groups, and only the first is a like-for-like swap. Willo's closest competitors are the other asynchronous video interviewing tools, because they solve the same problem in the same shape: Spark Hire, Hireflix, VidCruiter's recorded product and Jobma. Among Willo video interviewing competitors, Spark Hire is the swap buyers compare against most often on G2 and SourceForge shortlists, with Hireflix the cheaper and deliberately narrower option. All four show a candidate a fixed question, record the answer, and hand your team a set of videos to watch.

The second group, and the Willo rivals most likely to change how your week looks, competes for the same budget line without doing the same job. InterviewAgent.ai, Sapia.ai, Alex from Apriora, Fabric and HireVue's AI Interviewer conduct the interview themselves. They still produce a transcript and a structured score, which is why they land on the same lists, but what you are buying is different: not a better way to collect recorded answers, but a first round that happened without anyone on your team attending it.

The best Willo competitor for you comes out of those first two groups, and which one depends entirely on whether you want the recorded format done better or replaced. A third group turns up on Willo alternatives lists and should not. Zoom, Teams and Google Meet are meeting tools, and Zoho Recruit and similar all-in-one ATS products bundle a video step inside a much larger platform. Both are legitimate purchases. Neither is a like-for-like replacement for a tool whose entire point is that no meeting gets scheduled.

Is Willo an AI interviewer?

No, and the distinction is the single most useful one on this page. Willo Intelligence is real and it is good: it transcribes, summarizes, benchmarks candidates against each other, surfaces insights and helps you build the assessment, including suggesting follow-up questions when you are writing the question set. All of that happens either before the interview or after it.

What does not happen is a follow-up during the interview. If a candidate answers "I handled a lot of escalations" and stops, nothing asks which escalations, what the outcome was, or who else was involved. A recruiter would have asked. An AI interviewer asks. A recording tool moves to the next question and stores what it got. That gap is why teams that adopt Willo for the scheduling win often come back looking at the conducting group eighteen months later, when the problem has shifted from booking interviews to running them.

  • Records answers, applies AI afterwards: Willo, Spark Hire one-way, Hireflix, VidCruiter recorded, Jobma recorded
  • Conducts the interview with an AI agent: InterviewAgent.ai, Sapia.ai, Alex, Fabric, HireVue AI Interviewer, Jobma AI Interviewer
  • A human still runs it: Spark Hire live, VidCruiter live, any meeting tool

Does Willo integrate with Greenhouse, Workday or Lever?

Willo Enterprise does, and the list is long. Its pricing page, read on September 8, 2026, names Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, Greenhouse, iCIMS, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Teamtailor, BambooHR, JazzHR, Bullhorn, Recruitee, Personio, Breezy HR and more, alongside an open API.

Willo Lite does not. On the Lite column the integrations are Zapier and Integrately, and Willo itself points teams that need to "connect with your ATS and existing workflow" at Enterprise. This matters because Lite is the plan most people quote when they say Willo is inexpensive. If your shortlist has Willo on it because of the ATS logo wall, you are looking at a contract that starts at $3,799 a year, not at $59 per live role. Check which plan the integration you need actually lives on before you compare it to anything else, and ask every other vendor the same question, because the same split is common. Our Willo pricing page sets out both plans and their caps in full.

Which Willo competitors publish their pricing?

Five of the ten do. Willo publishes Enterprise from $3,799 a year and Lite at $59 per live role. Spark Hire publishes video interviewing from $249 a month billed annually. Hireflix publishes $75 and $150 a month by company size. Fabric publishes a free tier plus $199, $399 and $499. InterviewAgent.ai publishes $149, $399 and $999, which is the pricing we intend to launch with rather than a live checkout today. VidCruiter, HireVue, Jobma, Sapia.ai and Apriora publish nothing at all.

This is worth checking yourself rather than taking from a roundup, including ours. Several widely read 2026 alternatives articles publish a Willo lineup built around a figure near $249 a month and a plan name Willo does not sell. Willo's own page publishes exactly two plans, and neither of them is that. We have been wrong about a vendor price before and corrected it, which is why every row above carries the date it was read. If a comparison table does not tell you when it was checked, treat the numbers as decoration.

Willo vs Spark Hire: what is the difference?

They overlap on the recorded interview and diverge everywhere else. Spark Hire sells live video interviewing as well as one-way, and it sells a full applicant tracking system beside both, so it can be the whole hiring stack for a small team. Willo does one thing and is built tightly around it, with a currency selector, an ISO 27001 posture and identity check credits aimed at teams hiring across borders.

On price the shapes are genuinely different, not just the numbers. Spark Hire charges a monthly subscription from $249 billed annually, with unlimited interviews on the plan. Willo Lite charges $59 per live role you actually run, capped at five roles and 150 assessed candidates each, which is cheaper when you hire twice a year and stops being cheaper the moment you have six requisitions open. Work out your requisition count first, then compare, because the winner flips somewhere around four concurrent roles.

One detail buyers miss on the Spark Hire side: Recruit Pro at $335 a month is an ATS plan that already includes one-way video. If you were going to buy an ATS anyway, the standalone $249 video product is not the comparison you want to be making.

Willo vs Hireflix: what is the difference?

Hireflix is the narrower product and prices like it: $75 a month under 50 staff and $150 from 50 to 250, billed yearly, read on September 2, 2026. It does one-way recorded interviews, it does them without much ceremony, and it does not try to sell you an assessment library, benchmarking or identity verification.

Willo is the broader one. Custom scorecards, an assessment library, 18 or more languages, SMS as well as email invites, anti-cheat, identity and right to work checks sold as credits, and the Willo Intelligence layer on top. Whether that breadth is worth the difference depends on one question: are you hiring in one country for a handful of roles, or across borders at volume with compliance people asking questions? For the first, Hireflix is often the honest answer. For the second, the extra surface is what you are paying for.

Is Willo good for high volume hiring?

On Enterprise, yes, and the plan is explicitly sold for it: custom live roles, custom users, ATS integrations, governance and reporting. Willo's own framing is that Enterprise is right when you screen large or repeatable volumes across multiple teams, sites or managers, and that is a fair description.

On Lite, no, and the caps say so. Five live roles, five users, and 150 assessed candidates per live role. A retail group opening 40 seasonal requisitions runs out of plan immediately. The more subtle limit at volume is not the cap but the watching: 400 candidates recording five ninety-second answers is roughly 50 hours of video, and a recorded-answer tool hands you all of it. That is the arithmetic that pushes high-volume teams toward a tool that scores the answers rather than one that files them, which is what our high volume hiring software page works through in detail.

Which Willo competitor conducts the interview instead of recording it?

Six of the vendors on this page will run the conversation for you, and they do it in noticeably different ways. Sapia.ai interviews in text, which suits frontline and mobile-first hiring where video completion rates collapse. Alex from Apriora runs a live spoken interview. Fabric leans on catching candidates being coached by an AI in real time. HireVue added AI Interviewer to an enterprise suite in June 2026. Jobma markets an agentic AI Interviewer alongside its recorded product. InterviewAgent.ai runs the first round by voice or video, follows up when an answer skips the part that mattered, scores against the rubric you set, and returns a ranked shortlist with the transcripts attached.

None of these removes the human decision, and you should be suspicious of any vendor that implies otherwise. What they remove is the hour your team spends discovering that six of the ten candidates were never going to pass. If you want the like-for-like framing against Willo specifically rather than the whole field, our Willo alternative page covers it, and one-way video interview software covers the recorded format on its own terms.

What should you ask on a Willo competitor demo?

Ask who is in the room when the candidate answers. Then ask what happens when an answer is incomplete, and make them show you rather than describe it. Ask which plan the ATS integration is on, because that is where budgets break. Ask how the score is produced and whether you can see the evidence behind it, since a score you cannot inspect will not help you when someone asks in a year why a candidate did not advance.

Then ask the commercial questions in writing. Is the price per user, per role, per interview or per hire, and what happens in a seasonal spike. What is the contract term and does the discount for a longer one survive a headcount change. Is there a cap on assessed candidates, and what does exceeding it cost. Vendors answer these clearly when the answer is good for them, which by itself tells you where each product is strongest.

Good questions

Questions about Willo competitors

Partly, and it is worth being straight about it. Willo collects recorded answers to questions you wrote. We conduct the interview instead, including the follow-up questions Willo cannot ask. If your problem is purely scheduling and you are happy watching the answers back, Willo is a sound purchase at a published price. If the hours spent watching are the problem, a recording tool cannot fix that, because the watching is the product.
Among the five that publish, Hireflix is the lowest entry point at $75 a month for teams under 50 staff, with Fabric offering a free tier capped at 200 credits. Entry price is the wrong comparison at any real volume, though. Per-role, per-seat, per-interview and flat-subscription pricing all cross over at different points, so put your own requisition count and candidate count into each shape before you rank them.
No. Willo publishes two plans, Enterprise and Lite, and we read the page again on September 8, 2026 to confirm it. Enterprise starts at $3,799 a year in USD and Lite is $59 per live role with no contract. Several 2026 comparison articles still list a mid-tier at roughly $249 a month, which is not a plan Willo sells.
