Apriora competitors: Alex AI competitors and 9 AI interviewers compared on price and first-round work
The short answer
Apriora competitors, the vendors now selling against Alex, fall into two groups. AI interviewers that conduct the first-round conversation by phone or video: HireVue with its AI Interviewer, HeyMilo, Fabric, RightMatch, Sapia.ai, InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout and InterviewAgent.ai. And conversational schedulers such as Paradox, which qualify and book rather than interview. Apriora, which now runs as Alex at alex.com, publishes no price. Five of the nine competitors below do, and for three of them you can work out a cost per conducted interview, from $0.50 on our Scale plan to about $6.79 on RightMatch Scale.
If Apriora is on your shortlist, you already know what kind of product you want. Alex is a real AI interviewer: it calls or video-interviews the candidate, asks the questions, follows up, and hands back a record. That puts it in a small group, and it means most of the lists titled Apriora alternatives are not much use to you, because they pad the field with HR suites, applicant tracking systems and sourcing databases that do something else entirely.
This page keeps the field to vendors that compete for the same job, the first-round interview, plus one scheduler buyers regularly confuse with them. Every price was read on the vendor's own site on the date shown in the table. Where a vendor does not publish, we say so and do not repeat a number someone else estimated. We are one of the vendors in the table, which is worth keeping in mind as you read, and we say plainly where Alex is the stronger buy.

Why it works
What your team gets with Apriora competitors
Priced in public
Our plans are published rather than quoted after a discovery call, so you can set us next to any Alex quote before you book anything.
Conducted and scored
The agent runs the first-round interview by voice or video, asks its own follow-ups and scores each answer against your rubric, so what comes back is a ranked shortlist with the evidence attached.
Human final call
Candidates are advanced to recruiter review, never auto-rejected, with consent, AI disclosure and bias auditing aligned to EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.
What it handles
Interviewed, scored and shortlisted on autopilot
The agent invites each applicant, runs a role-tailored screening interview by voice or video, asks smart follow-ups, scores every answer against your rubric, and advances the strongest candidates into a ranked shortlist for your recruiters to review.
- Interviews every applicant on the req without a recruiter attending
- Asks unscripted follow-ups when an answer is vague or a claim needs testing
- Scores answers against the rubric you set, identically for every candidate
- Returns a ranked shortlist with transcripts and highlights
- Publishes what it costs per month and per interview
Why InterviewAgent.ai
One agent that runs the whole first round
Not a one-way video tool, not a six-figure assessment suite, and not a staffing agency. Interview, score, rank and hand off in one place, shaped to the roles and rubric you already hire on.
Interviews every applicant
A role-tailored screening interview runs by voice or video, with smart follow-ups, on the candidate's schedule. Applicants consent and are told they are speaking with AI, so no qualified person waits days for a first call.
Scores to your rubric
Every answer is scored against the same structured rubric, with transcripts and highlights, so candidates are compared consistently and the scoring stays bias-audited against EEOC guidance and NYC Local Law 144.
Ranks the shortlist
The strongest candidates are advanced into a ranked shortlist your recruiters review. The agent never auto-hires or rejects, it only surfaces who to talk to next, and your team makes every decision.

Five of the nine competitors publish a price on their own site. Apriora, HireVue, HeyMilo and Sapia.ai do not, and Paradox has no pricing page at all. We print only figures we read on the vendor's own site, in US dollars, on the date stated, and we leave a row on its older date rather than pretend we re-read it. The Alex price question in full is on Apriora pricing, and the head-to-head with us is on Apriora alternative.
Who are Apriora's competitors?
Apriora competitors, searched just as often as Alex AI competitors since the rebrand, are the other vendors whose AI conducts the first-round interview. That is a narrower field than the review directories suggest. The CB Insights list for Alex, read September 17, 2026, opens with Humanly, Hireguide and Findem, then BrightHire, Ashby and Metaview, and software directories go further and pad the list with HR suites and applicant tracking systems. Those are companies like Apriora only in the sense that they sell to recruiters. A sourcing database, an ATS and an interview notetaker do not run your first round for you.
The competitors that do the same job are HireVue, whose product menu now lists an AI Interviewer under Screen, and a set of newer vendors built around the conversation: HeyMilo, Fabric, RightMatch, InterviewFlowAI, TalentSprout and InterviewAgent.ai. Sapia.ai belongs in the group too, with the difference that its interview is a structured chat rather than a call. These are the Apriora rivals that answer the question a buyer is actually asking: if not Alex, who else will run my first round for me?
Paradox sits on the edge of the list, and it is worth being precise about why. On high-volume hourly hiring it is often the tool bought instead of a conversational interviewer. But Olivia qualifies candidates on knockout questions and books an interview slot. Nobody asks a follow-up about how the candidate handled the angry customer. If a depth screen is what you need, Paradox answers a different question.
Is Alex AI the same company as Apriora?
Yes. The company consolidated onto the name of its agent. When we requested apriora.ai on September 17, 2026 it returned a 301 redirect to www.alex.com, and the site describes Alex as an AI recruiter. The practical consequence is that a lot of what you will read about Apriora refers to a brand that no longer runs the website, so check the date on any review, feature list or price estimate before you rely on it.
What alex.com states today, read the same day: Alex calls candidates by phone, runs video interviews, and engages over SMS and WhatsApp, around the clock and in 30 languages. It claims more than 33 officially supported ATS integrations and lists SOC 2, ISO 27001 and ISO 42001. Named customers include EY, Randstad, Upwork, First Student and Mattress Firm, and the company announces a $20M raise. That is a serious enterprise product, and it sets the bar the competitors below have to be measured against.
Which Apriora competitors publish their pricing?
Five of the nine Apriora AI competitors on this page publish: InterviewAgent.ai, Fabric, RightMatch, InterviewFlowAI and TalentSprout. The four that do not are HireVue, HeyMilo, Sapia.ai and Paradox, which has removed its pricing page entirely, and Alex itself publishes nothing either. If you need a budget line before you are allowed to book a demo, that split decides your first week of evaluation for you.
A headline monthly price is not enough to compare these tools, because each one meters a different unit: interviews, credits shared with sourcing, credits shared with an ATS, or hires. The fair comparison is cost per conducted interview at a realistic volume, and for three of the five publishers the arithmetic can be done straight from their own pages. The two credit-based vendors are harder, and we say why below rather than guess.
Fabric sells one credit balance that also pays for sourcing searches and contact reveals, and its pricing page does not state how many credits an interview consumes, so there is no honest per-interview number to print. InterviewFlowAI prices in credits too, $59 for 20 on Pilot, without a published credits-per-interview rule on the pricing page. Ask both vendors for that one figure in writing, because it is the number that decides your monthly bill.
- InterviewAgent.ai: $149 for 100 interviews is $1.49 each, $399 for 500 is $0.80, $999 for 2,000 is $0.50
- TalentSprout: $199 for 50 is $3.98 each, then $4; $499 for 250 is $2.00, then $2.50
- RightMatch: at 10 credits per AI interview, $199 buys 50 interviews at $3.98 each and $679 buys 100 at $6.79, before any credits spent elsewhere in the ATS
- Fabric and InterviewFlowAI: credit-priced, with no per-interview credit rule published on the pricing page
- Alex, HireVue, HeyMilo and Sapia.ai: quote only
Alex AI vs HeyMilo: which fits a corporate talent acquisition team?
On the core job they are close. Both conduct the interview rather than record it: Alex by phone and video, HeyMilo through automated phone screens and scored two-way video interviews, with a scenario-based skill assessment on top. Neither publishes a price, so in Alex AI vs HeyMilo, which is also searched as Apriora vs HeyMilo, a buyer cannot settle anything on cost without two sales calls.
The difference that shows on their own sites is breadth. Alex leads with reach: SMS and WhatsApp outreach, 30 languages, 33 or more ATS integrations and three listed certifications. HeyMilo leads with the assessment side, scenario-based evaluation alongside the interview. If your candidates are spread across countries and you need the agent to find and chase them as well as interview them, that favors Alex. If the question is whether a candidate can actually do the work, the assessment layer is what to test in the demo.
Run both on the same live requisition before deciding. Give each the same five questions and the same rubric, and compare what a recruiter holds at the end: a transcript and a score with the evidence behind it, or a summary you have to trust. That output is the product. Everything else on the feature page is packaging.
Apriora vs HireVue: which should an enterprise shortlist?
This one is usually decided by procurement. HireVue publishes no price: its pricing page, read September 17, 2026, offers a demo request and an ROI calculator. Alex publishes none either. So the comparison you can make from public information is about scope and paperwork, and a mid-size team will find that both are built for a buyer larger than itself. Among Apriora competitors for enterprise hiring, HireVue is the one most often on the same shortlist.
HireVue brings the longer enterprise record, recorded video and assessments alongside the AI Interviewer, and a government page stating FedRAMP authorization. Alex brings more channels for reaching candidates and the ISO 42001 listing, which is the AI management system standard and is still uncommon in this category. If a security review or a federal contract names a requirement, that requirement picks the vendor before anyone compares interviews.
If neither constraint applies, you are paying for scale you may not use in year one. Our dated reading of what HireVue does and does not disclose is on HireVue pricing, and the wider field of HireVue rivals is on HireVue competitors.
Which Apriora competitor is best for a mid-size US hiring team?
For a team of two to fifteen recruiters hiring steadily, the best Apriora competitor is usually one that publishes its price and meters by the interview, because that is the only setup where the monthly bill tracks the work you actually hand over. On that test the shortlist is InterviewAgent.ai and TalentSprout, with RightMatch in the frame if you are also replacing your applicant tracking system.
Here is how the numbers play out on a normal quarter. A team screening 400 applicants a month pays $399 on our Growth plan for up to 500 conducted and scored interviews. The same 400 on TalentSprout Growth is $499 for the first 250 plus $375 for the other 150 at $2.50, so $874. On RightMatch, 400 AI interviews is 4,000 credits, which is beyond Scale's included 1,000, so you would be buying extra credits or talking to sales. None of that makes one tool better at interviewing. It tells you which bill you can predict.
The honest case against us: if you need the agent to source, text and chase candidates in 30 languages, or you need ISO 42001 on the certificate list, Alex does more of that than we do. We run the voice or video interview, score it against your rubric and return a ranked shortlist. We do not sell outreach over SMS or WhatsApp, a sourcing database or an ATS.
How do you choose between Apriora and its competitors?
Name the bottleneck first. If candidates vanish because nobody replies for a week, the fix is outreach and scheduling speed, and Alex or Paradox are built for that. If your recruiters spend their days on the same fifteen minute phone screen, you want an agent that conducts and scores it, which is most of the table. If the problem is that you cannot explain a decision six months later, the transcript and the rubric matter more than any channel.
Then send every finalist the same written questions. What is the pricing unit, and what does it cost at our real monthly volume including overage? What exactly does the model score, and what does it ignore? What does a recruiter hold when the round closes? And how does the tool support New York City Local Law 144, which requires an independent bias audit and candidate notice before an automated employment decision tool is used on NYC roles, since that duty sits with the employer and not the vendor.
Finally, check the output against your ATS rather than the brochure. We export one row per candidate with each rubric criterion as its own column and the transcript attached, and on Scale we add a read API and a signed webhook. We do not have a native marketplace app for Greenhouse or Workday, and you should ask every vendor the same question about theirs. Our view of the whole category is on AI interview software, and scoring is covered in depth on candidate interview scoring.
- What is the unit of pricing: interview, credit, hire, seat or platform access?
- Who conducts the first round: an AI agent, a scheduler bot, or nobody?
- What does a recruiter hold at the end: a ranked shortlist with evidence, or a summary?
- Which languages and channels does the agent actually use with candidates?
- Which ATS connections, certifications and audit terms are in the contract, not only on the website?
