interviewstream Alternatives and What Each One Costs
interviewstream sells by quote and its AI summarizes recordings rather than running the interview. Eight alternatives compared on who runs the first round, who each suits and what each charges, read from the vendor on the date shown.

The best interviewstream alternative depends on why you are leaving. If you want a price on the page for one-way video, Hireflix ($75 a month billed yearly), Spark Hire ($249 a month billed annually) and Willo cover the same recorded round. If the real problem is that your team still watches every recording, an AI interview agent such as InterviewAgent.ai (from $149 a month for 100 conducted and scored interviews) removes that step. interviewstream itself publishes no price, checked on October 8, 2026.
interviewstream has sold video interviewing and scheduling to school districts, hospital systems and city governments for about twenty years, and it does that job well. It records one-way interviews, runs live video rounds, schedules interviews and hiring events, and summarizes recorded answers with AI. The reasons US buyers look around are usually one of three: there is no published price to budget against, the AI summarizes recordings rather than conducting the interview, or a renewal quote arrives higher than the year before.
This guide is for a US HR director, talent acquisition lead or district HR office that has interviewstream on a shortlist or a renewal and wants to know what else does the job and what it costs. We build one of the tools below, so treat that as a disclosed interest. Every price was read on the vendor's own site on the date shown, and where a vendor prints nothing we say so. What interviewstream does commit to about its price is on our interviewstream pricing page.

Six of the nine options print a price. interviewstream, VidCruiter and HireVue all sell by quote, so if your goal is a number you can put in a budget request before talking to sales, start with the other six.
Why do teams look for an interviewstream alternative?
The first reason is budgeting. A school district or county HR office often has to put a figure in a budget request months before procurement opens, and interviewstream does not publish one. Its demo page does promise a single monthly price that does not rise in a busy month, which is a fair deal once you have it. Getting it still means a demo and a quote for every vendor you want to compare.
The second reason is reviewer time. interviewstream's one-way video moves the first screen off the phone, and candidates finish on their own schedule, but someone on your team still watches every answer. Its AI Interview Summary shortens that by turning each response into bullet points with a confidence score. It does not ask a follow-up when an answer is vague, and it does not score the answer against your rubric. For a district hiring 40 paraprofessionals in August, the review queue is the bottleneck, not the recording.
The third is renewal. Quote-priced contracts tend to drift upward at renewal, and the notice periods are long. If you are inside a renewal window, a published price elsewhere is the best leverage you have, even if you end up staying.
What is the cheapest alternative to interviewstream?
For the same recorded format, Hireflix is the cheapest published option at $75 a month billed yearly for organizations under 50 employees and $150 for 50 to 250, with unlimited seats, positions and responses. Willo Lite at $59 per live role a month is cheaper if you only ever have one or two roles open at a time. Hirevire starts at $49 a month for one open role.
Cheap recording does have a hidden cost: the hours your team spends watching. At 300 applicants a month and five 90-second answers each, that is more than 37 hours of video before anyone makes a decision. If those hours are the real expense, compare per screened candidate rather than per seat. Our plans cost $1.49 per conducted and scored interview on Starter and $0.80 on Growth at monthly prices, and the recruiter reads a ranked shortlist with transcripts instead of the queue. The full plan list is on our pricing page.
Which interviewstream alternative is best for school districts?
It depends on whether you need interviewing to plug into Frontline, PowerSchool or ApplyToEducation. interviewstream lists all three integrations, and that is a real reason K-12 HR offices pick it. Of the alternatives, Spark Hire and Hireflix are simple enough that many districts run them alongside the applicant system and move candidates by export, while VidCruiter targets public sector buyers directly. An AI interview agent works the same way: it interviews every applicant for a role, and the scores and transcripts travel to your system by export.
Districts also hire in waves. A spring teacher fair and an August rush for bus drivers and aides look nothing like steady corporate hiring, so plans priced per live role (Willo Lite) or per interview suit them better than a flat annual contract sized to the peak. Our guide to the best AI interview software for school districts compares the K-12 options in more detail.
Which interviewstream alternative is best for healthcare and local government?
Hospitals screening for nursing assistants, techs and environmental services need speed above all, because good candidates take the first offer. An AI interview agent that interviews applicants the evening they apply, by voice on a phone, closes the gap between application and first conversation. Our page on healthcare hiring interviews covers how a first-round screen works for clinical and support roles.
City and county governments usually care most about defensibility: the same questions for every candidate, a score tied to written criteria, and a record that survives a grievance or an audit. That favors tools that enforce structure, which recording tools only partly do. The government interview software page sets out what a public agency should require, and HireVue remains the option for agencies that need FedRAMP authorization.
What do you lose by leaving interviewstream?
Be honest about the modules you actually use. interviewstream bundles hiring event scheduling, live video through Interview Connect, an interview builder, reporting and employee onboarding alongside recorded video. None of the cheaper alternatives above cover all of that, so list what your team touches every week before you compare prices.
Onboarding is the one that catches teams out. If you rely on interviewstream to move new hires from offer to first day, you will need a replacement for that step, and new-hire training, policy sign-offs and certifications usually sit better in a dedicated learning management system than in an interviewing tool anyway. Scheduling is the other: if your recruiters book live second rounds through interviewstream, check that the replacement includes a self-booking link or keep a separate scheduler.
How should you switch from interviewstream?
Start with the contract. Find your renewal date and the notice period, and give notice in writing before it passes, even if you have not chosen a replacement, because most quote-priced contracts renew automatically. Export the interview recordings and notes you are required to keep under your state's records retention schedule before access ends.
Then run the replacement on one live role in parallel for two weeks. Send the same applicants through both, have a recruiter rank them by hand, and compare the shortlists. If you are testing an AI interview agent, check that every score shows the transcript quote behind it, as ours do on interview scorecard software, so your reviewers can disagree with the AI and see why.
interviewstream alternatives frequently asked questions
Does interviewstream publish its prices?
No. On October 8, 2026 interviewstream.com/pricing returned a page-not-found and every product page led to a demo request. The demo page promises one set monthly price with no overages, so the quote is sized to your normal interview volume.
Is interviewstream an AI interview platform?
Partly. Its AI summarizes recorded one-way answers and adds a confidence score, and a separate AI assistant drafts questions, job descriptions and emails. The AI does not conduct the interview or score answers against a rubric. People still review every recording.
What is the difference between interviewstream and Spark Hire?
Both sell one-way and live video interviews. Spark Hire publishes its price, $249 a month billed annually for unlimited jobs and users. interviewstream sells by quote and adds scheduling, hiring events and onboarding modules aimed at schools, hospitals and governments.
Is rivs the same as interviewstream?
On October 8, 2026 rivs.com redirected to interviewstream.com, and directories still list the product as rivs digital interviewing. If you are comparing rivs alternatives, the same options apply.
If you would rather see a scored first round than read about one, the interview agent at the top of this page runs one on a role you name. The wider field is on our AI interview software page.
