The best Interviewer.AI alternative depends on which part of its bill bothers you. If it is paying two credits for every conversational interview, InterviewAgent.ai (from $149 a month for 100 two-way interviews), Ribbon AI and HireFoundry run a back-and-forth AI interview at one price per interview. If it is the job-post cap or the ATS sitting behind an Enterprise quote, HappyFleet and HireFoundry are the closest match. Interviewer.AI's own plans start at $199 a month for 50 credits, read on October 7, 2026.

Interviewer.AI is a capable product with a public pricing page, which still puts it ahead of most of this category. It runs AI-scored one-way video interviews on every plan and, from its Professional edition up, conversational interviews led by an AI avatar that asks follow-up questions. The reasons US buyers look around tend to be the same three: a conversational interview costs two credits, new job posts are capped at 3 or 5 a month, and ATS integrations are listed only under Enterprise.

This guide is for a US talent acquisition lead, staffing agency owner or operations manager who has Interviewer.AI on a shortlist or a renewal and wants to know what else does the job and what it costs. We build one of the tools below, so treat that as a disclosed interest. Every price was read on the vendor's own site on the date shown, and where a vendor prints nothing we say so. The edition-by-edition math for Interviewer.AI itself is on our Interviewer.AI pricing page.

Eight of the nine alternatives publish a price. Two of them, Hireflix and Hirevire, are recording tools rather than AI interviewers, so they belong on the list only if your team is willing to watch every answer.

What does Interviewer.AI cost compared with its alternatives?

Compare cost per interview, not the entry price, and count the interview format. On Interviewer.AI an async video interview uses one credit and a conversational avatar interview uses two. That makes an async interview $3.98 on Essential and $3.33 on Professional at monthly prices, and a conversational interview $6.65 on Professional, or $5.54 billed annually. Ribbon's Growth plan works out to $4.99 per included interview billed annually, HappyFleet runs from $7.45 on Starter down to $2.33 on Pro, and Classet's Starter is $4.98 per completed interview.

On our own plans every interview is two-way and costs the same: $1.49 on Starter, $0.80 on Growth and $0.50 on Scale at monthly prices, and half that billed yearly. HireFoundry meters minutes rather than interviews, which comes to about $1.49 for a 15-minute interview on either plan. InterviewFlowAI states its own figures, $2.95 per credit on Pilot and $0.99 on Growth and Scale.

One thing Interviewer.AI does better than most: unused credits roll over, and annual plans get the whole year of credits on day one. If your hiring is lumpy, that softens the per-interview figure, because a quiet month does not burn money the way it does on plans that reset monthly.

Which Interviewer.AI alternatives run a two-way AI interview on every plan?

InterviewAgent.ai, Ribbon AI and HireFoundry. On Interviewer.AI, conversational interviews, adaptive follow-up questions and dynamic interview flows start at Professional, so a team on Essential gets a scored recording, not a conversation. That matters more than it sounds. A one-way recording takes whatever the candidate says first, while an interviewer that asks "what did you do when that happened?" gets the evidence a hiring manager needs to trust a score.

Our agent asks each candidate open questions by voice or video, follows up when an answer is thin, and scores every answer against anchors your team wrote, on every plan. The shortlist shows the transcript and the highlights behind each score, which is set out in detail on interview scorecard software. If you only want a cheaper recording tool, the trade-offs are covered on one-way video interview software.

Which Interviewer.AI alternative is cheapest for small teams?

On published prices, InterviewFlowAI's Pilot plan at $59 a month is the lowest entry ticket for an AI interviewer, but it covers 20 credits and video only. HireFoundry's Starter at $99 a month billed annually includes 1,000 interview minutes, roughly 66 interviews of 15 minutes. Our Starter is $149 a month, or $888 a year, for up to 100 scored two-way interviews with two recruiter seats, against 50 one-way interviews for $199 on Interviewer.AI Essential.

If you do not need the AI to conduct or score the interview, Hirevire at $49 a month and Hireflix at $75 a month billed yearly are cheaper still. The catch is labor. With a recording tool someone on your team watches every answer, and at 100 applicants a month and four minutes of footage each, that is close to seven hours of review a month that an AI interviewer would have scored for you.

Which alternatives connect to your ATS without an Enterprise contract?

Interviewer.AI lists its ATS integrations, including Workday, Greenhouse, SmartRecruiters and Bullhorn, under Enterprise, which is quoted by sales. Essential and Professional customers move results out by CSV export and PDF reports. If your recruiters work inside the ATS, check this before you size the plan on credits alone.

Ribbon includes ATS integrations on every published plan, and HireFoundry includes ATS integration on its $99 Starter. HappyFleet takes the other route and is the ATS. On our plans, ATS export starts at Growth, $399 a month for up to 500 interviews, with every price shown on our pricing page. Staffing agencies should ask the Bullhorn question specifically, since that is the system most US agencies run on.

What to check before you switch from Interviewer.AI

Start with the contract. Interviewer.AI says it does not offer refunds and that you can cancel before the next renewal date, so find that date first. Because credits roll over and annual plans load a whole year up front, a team leaving mid-term may be holding a balance of paid credits, so plan the switch around using them rather than abandoning them.

Then export what you will need later: recordings, transcripts, assessment reports in PDF and the bulk CSV of scores, plus the questions you wrote for each role. Your questions are the asset you will rebuild first in any new tool. If you hire in New York City or Illinois, keep the notices and any bias audit summary tied to your Interviewer.AI period, and ask the replacement the same questions. Our page on AI hiring compliance lists them.

Finally, plan what happens after the AI round. Whichever tool you choose, the candidates it ranks highest still need a second interview with a person, and a shared scheduling software link lets finalists book that slot themselves instead of trading emails with a recruiter. Run the replacement on one live role in parallel for two weeks and compare its shortlist with your recruiters' own picks before moving every role over. The wider field of tools is compared on AI interview software.
