The best ConverzAI alternative for a staffing firm depends on whether you want to pay per placement or per month. If you want an AI to conduct and score first-round screening interviews at a price you can see, InterviewAgent.ai (from $149 a month for 100 interviews), Ribbon AI ($499 a month billed annually) and Interviewer.AI ($199 a month) all publish one. If you want the whole recruiter workflow automated, Tenzo AI, HeyMilo and Paradox are the closer match, and none of them print a price. ConverzAI publishes no rate either, only that you pay per placement, checked on October 12, 2026.

ConverzAI is built for one buyer: the staffing firm. Its Virtual Recruiter sources from your database and job boards, calls, texts and emails candidates around the clock, runs screening interviews built from the job details, schedules, chases paperwork and writes everything back to Bullhorn, Avionte, JobDiva, TempWorks or whichever staffing ATS you run. Its customer stories come from commercial and IT staffing firms, and it raised a $16 million Series A in February 2025.

Agency owners start looking around for three reasons. The fee is per placement and unpublished, so nobody can model it against a desk's gross margin before a sales call. A per-placement fee grows with your best months, which is the opposite of what a firm on thin temp spreads wants. And some firms only need the screening interview done well, not a full agent that also owns sourcing and outreach. This guide is for an agency owner or recruiting director in that position who is weighing alternatives to ConverzAI. We build one of the tools below, so treat that as a disclosed interest. Every price was read on the vendor's own site on the date shown. What ConverzAI does publish about its cost is on our ConverzAI pricing page.

ConverzAI competitors split into two groups: tools that conduct the screening interview at a published monthly price, and full recruiting agents that sell by quote. Five of the nine options print a price. ConverzAI is the only one that charges per placement, so the honest way to compare is cost per placement on your own desk, not price per seat.

Why do staffing firms look for a ConverzAI alternative?

Margin visibility comes first. A staffing firm lives on gross profit per placement, and ConverzAI's fee is a share of that you cannot see until a demo. A fee that looks small against a $15,000 direct-hire fee looks very different against the weekly spread on a $17 an hour light industrial assignment. Until you know the number, you cannot say whether the tool pays for itself on your highest-volume desk.

The second reason is how a per-placement fee behaves over time. It protects you in a slow first month, which is the selling point. It also grows in your best months, when a flat subscription would have stayed the same. Firms that place hundreds of temps a month often find that after the first quarter a flat plan would have been cheaper.

The third is scope. ConverzAI sells sourcing, outreach, interviewing, scheduling and ATS updates as one agent. Some firms already have strong sourcing and a texting platform their recruiters like, and the real bottleneck is that nobody has time to run and score 300 first-round screens a week. Paying a placement fee for an agent that also replaces tools you are happy with is the most common mismatch we hear about.

Which ConverzAI alternative has a published price?

InterviewAgent.ai, Ribbon AI, Interviewer.AI, Fabric and Hireflix all publish one. We start at $149 a month for up to 100 conducted interviews, or $888 a year, with no cap on open roles, and our Growth plan is $399 a month for 500. That works out to $1.49 to $0.50 a conducted interview at monthly prices and half that billed yearly. Ribbon AI is $2.00 to $4.99 an interview billed annually, and Interviewer.AI works out to $2.77 to $6.65 an interview from its credits.

To compare any of these with ConverzAI, convert both to cost per placement. Take your monthly interview volume, divide the plan price by the placements those interviews produced last quarter, and put that next to the per-placement rate ConverzAI quotes. On our Growth plan, 500 interviews and a one-in-ten placement rate, which is an assumption you should replace with your own, comes to about $8 of interview cost per placement.

What is the best ConverzAI alternative for high-volume light industrial staffing?

For light industrial, warehouse and clerical desks, the question is speed: the candidate who gets screened tonight starts Monday, and the one who waits takes another agency's job. You want an agent that interviews the moment an applicant arrives, by phone for candidates without a laptop, asks about shifts, transportation and certifications, and puts a ranked list in front of the recruiter by morning.

That is what InterviewAgent.ai does, and on a flat plan your cost does not rise when a big client order lands. Ribbon AI is the other published-price option built for volume, and it adds text outreach to applicants. If you need knockout questions and shift scheduling in a chat flow more than a scored interview, Paradox is the long-standing choice for high-volume hourly hiring, though it sells by quote. Our page on staffing agency interview software covers per-client rubrics and client-ready output.

What is the best ConverzAI alternative for IT and professional staffing?

IT and professional desks place fewer people at higher fees, so a per-placement model hurts less and the quality of the screen matters more. What you need is an interview that tests technical claims with follow-up questions, flags answers that sound read from a second screen, and gives the recruiter something they can send to a client.

Tenzo AI and HeyMilo both lean into fraud checks and multi-channel interviews, and both sell by quote. Fabric publishes a price and focuses on detecting AI-assisted candidates. Our agent probes technical depth with its own follow-ups and attaches the transcript quote behind every score, which is the part an account manager can forward. For more detail, see our guide to technical screening software.

What do you lose if you replace ConverzAI with an interview tool?

Be honest about this before you switch. An interview-first tool does not source from your database, run reactivation campaigns, chase paperwork or update every ATS field the way ConverzAI says its Virtual Recruiter does. If those jobs matter to your desk, you either keep them with recruiters or cover them with other tools.

Outreach is the piece most firms need to replace. Texting candidates at agency volume needs registered 10DLC numbers, opt-in records and quiet hours, or carriers start filtering your messages; ConverzAI says it is 10DLC compliant, and whatever replaces it should be too. A compliant business texting platform handles registration and opt-outs, and the interview agent picks the candidate up from the link in that first message.

  • Database sourcing and reactivation: keep with your ATS search and recruiters, or a sourcing tool
  • Text and email outreach: a compliant texting platform plus your ATS email
  • Screening interview and scoring: the interview agent
  • Paperwork follow-up: your onboarding or ATS workflow

How should you switch from ConverzAI?

Start with the contract. Find how placements are attributed, whether any minimum applies, and the notice period, and give notice in writing before it passes. Export call recordings, transcripts and screening notes for active candidates, and check how long ConverzAI keeps them after you leave.

Then run the replacement on one live desk for two weeks. Send the same applicants through both, have a recruiter rank them by hand, and compare the shortlists and the time to first submittal. If you are testing an AI interview agent, check that every score shows the evidence behind it, as ours do on candidate interview scoring, and confirm what the recruiter sees in your ATS afterwards.

ConverzAI alternatives frequently asked questions

Does ConverzAI publish its prices?

No. On October 12, 2026 converzai.com/pricing redirected to the homepage. The only statement about cost is on the Virtual Recruiter page: outcome-based pricing, pay only for placements. No fee, minimum or term is published.

Who are ConverzAI's competitors?

For staffing firms, the closest are Tenzo AI, HeyMilo, Ribbon AI, Paradox and Glider AI, which all automate screening by voice, video or chat. Interview-first tools with published prices, including InterviewAgent.ai, Interviewer.AI and Fabric, compete for the screening part only.

Is a per-placement AI recruiter cheaper than a subscription?

In a slow month, usually yes, because you pay nothing if nothing is placed. In a busy month, usually no, because the fee scales with every placement while a subscription stays flat. Compare both against your gross profit per placement over a full quarter.

Does ConverzAI work with Bullhorn?

Yes. Its demo form lists Bullhorn alongside Avionte, Ceipal, Erecruit, JobDiva, LaborEdge, Salesforce, TargetRecruit, TempWorks and Tracker. Ask whether the integration is included in your quote.

If you would rather see a scored first round than read about one, the interview agent at the top of this page runs one on a role you name. Our plans are on the pricing page, and the wider field is on our AI interview software page.
